Iryna Torrance has been selected by the CIC as the new Director, Finance and Business Services

The Chemical Institute of Canada is thrilled to introduce Iryna Torrance as the new Director of Finance and Business Services. Bringing a wealth of experience and a fresh, innovative perspective, Iryna is a perfect addition to the National Team. Iryna Torrance is a seasoned CPA, CA, Macc, and MBA with many years in Finance. For the past 12+ years she held executive and senior finance management roles in Not-for-Profit, Diamond Mining, Manufacturing, and Refrigeration sectors.

India-Canada Joint Symposium at CHEMCON-2022 in Kanpur, India (December 27-30, 2022)

The Indian Chemical Engineering Congress (CHEMCON) is an annual flagship event of the Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IIChE), which is held in the month of December every year at different locations across India. An invitation from the IIChE was accepted by CSChE’s Board of Directors in early 2022. Ajay K. Dalai (University of Saskatchewan) and Anil K. Mehrotra (University of Calgary) were asked to organize and co-lead a CSChE delegation to an India-Canadian Joint Symposium at CHEMCON-2022.

It feels like our in-person conferences were a lifetime ago. As the new Executive Director of the Chemical Institute of Canada (CIC), it has been a magnificent learning experience (I am a chemist by trade, and chemical engineering is a different ball game!), and an amazing opportunity for me to be a part of the first in-person Canadian Chemical Engineering Conference and Exhibition in beautiful Vancouver and getting to know the incredible and solid chemical engineering community.
