After a long search, the Chemical Institute of Canada (CIC) is proud to announce the appointment of  Dr. Bibiana Campos Seijo as Interim Manager, Strategic Communications and Engagement.

A chemist by training, Bibiana spent the last eight years at the American Chemical Society (ACS) as Editor in Chief of Chemical & Engineering News (C&EN) and VP of the C&EN Media Group, providing strategic leadership for C&EN, leading business development and diversification initiatives, and developing a vision for C&EN’s portfolio across all channels and platforms. Prior to her ACS days, Bibiana worked at the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) where, as Magazines Publisher and Editor in Chief of Chemistry World, she focused on raising the profile of the RSC’s magazines portfolio, which included three magazines and one journal. Bibiana is excited to bring her passion and vision to CIC, advocate for the advancement of the chemical sciences and its practitioners, and ensure that CIC continues to thrive as a membership organization.

Bibiana has hit the ground running, and began in her role on Monday, February 13. As the Interim Manager, Strategic Communications and Engagement, she will be overseeing the marketing, advertising, social media, website, membership outreach, partnership, and sponsorship activity for the entire organization. Bibiana is in a high-impact role where she will be making a meaningful difference as she reimagines how CIC communicates our values and stories internally and externally to members and partners.

If you have any marketing or communications inquiries, or if you would like to welcome her and introduce yourself, please do not hesitate to contact her at camposseijob@gmail.com.
