3rd Commonwealth Chemistry Congress – Call for applications

The Canadian Society for Chemistry (CSC) is offering funding for up to three candidates to attend and present at the 3rd Commonwealth Chemistry Congress, which will take place on May 11-14, 2025 in South Africa. We invite early-career chemists whose research contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals to apply for the chance to represent Canada. Successful candidates will receive full funding to attend the congress and present both a flash presentation and a poster on their research, aligned with one of the congress's three scientific themes.

Emily Devereux: Environmental remediation of tailing waste

CSC WIDE September 2024 Spotlight Video -- an initiative of the CSC’s Working for Inclusion, Equity, and Diversity (WIDE) Committee -- shines a light on chemists from diverse backgrounds and creates opportunities for increased representation of diverse researchers and scientists. This month we feature Emily Devereux, a research technologist at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. Emily’s environmental research aims to remediate oil sand tailing waste and return it to natural landscape to be safe for humans and animals.
