Abstract+

Are you interested in increasing your online discoverability in the chemistry community? Would you benefit from having your conference abstract publicly available as a record of participation in CSC Conference?

Abstract+ is an initiative created by the CSC to increase public access to research. By selecting the Abstract+ option in your registration, your accepted abstract text will be included in the CSC 2024 conference archive.

Fee: $25 CAD per abstract

*Opting into Abstract+ does not guarantee abstract acceptance to the conference. No refund will be provided if an abstract is not accepted.

Refunds and cancellations

Written cancellation must be received by the CSC no later than Wednesday, Mar. 27, 2024, at 11:59 PM CT to qualify for a refund. A $50 CAD administration fee will apply. After Mar. 27, 2024, there will be no refunds. To cancel a registration, contact us at CSCConference@cheminst.ca.

IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING VISA-RELATED REFUNDS:

While we recognize the necessity of visas for international travel, we are unable to control visa application processing times. Therefore, refunds for conference registration fees due to visa delays will not be granted beyond the refund deadline.

Refunds will only be issued for REJECTED visa applications and you must send us official government-issued proof of the rejection. We provide a full refund (subject to a $50 CAD + tax cancellation fee) if notified before the conference commences. If the conference has already taken place, a 50% refund will be offered for rejected visa applications received up to two months from the conference date.

Attendees requiring visas are encouraged to apply well in advance to ensure timely processing.

Registration FAQ

Unfortunately, the early bird registration timeframe has passed. We encourage you to become a member of the CIC/CSC and save on your registration for the CSC 2024 conference.

CSC 2024 will not have a hard registration deadline; general attendees will be able to register at any time leading up to and throughout the event at a higher rate after the early-bird deadline.

The CSC must receive written cancellation no later than Wednesday, Mar. 27, 2024, at 11:59 PM CT to qualify for a refund. A $50 CAD administration fee will apply. After Mar. 27, 2024, there will be no refunds. To cancel a registration, contact us at CSCConference@cheminst.ca.

Abstract+ is an initiative created by the CSC to increase public access to research. By selecting the Abstract+ option your accepted abstract text will be accessible and visible in the CSC 2024 conference archive indefinitely. Past conferences’ scientific programs can be accessed through the Archived Conferences webpage.

You can select to participate in Abstract+ through your registration.

Throughout CSC Conference 2024, the scientific program will include all abstract text of accepted abstracts regardless of selection of the Abstract+ option.

As a non-profit organization, we take pride in offering our services to the community at the lowest cost possible and our registration rates are no exception. Facilitating an in-person & hybrid event require:

  • A dedicated staff to organize an engaging and exciting event; and
  • A convention center space to house the many concurrent sessions in our busy technical program
  • A hybrid event platform that allows for an all-inclusive and value-adding experience, including an intuitive interface and live and on-demand access to scientific content.

The CSC is committed to inclusivity, diversity, and equity in all aspects of its programming and scheduling at the annual CSC meeting and welcomes participants from equity-deserving groups: women and all persons of any gender identity and expression, all Indigenous Peoples, all racialized groups/visible minorities, all persons with disabilities, and all others who may identify as equity-deserving.

Opportunities within our Society and in the chemistry community are not equally available to all members. The information collected in this questionnaire will help us to achieve greater EDI in the Canadian Society for Chemistry (CSC) and at its annual conference. Attendees are referred to the CSC Self-Identification Policy for a list of acceptable uses for the data collected.

All registrants must complete and submit this SIQ as part of the conference registration process; however, self-identification is completely voluntary. You may choose not to self-identify by selecting the option “I prefer not to answer at this time“. Although self-identifying is encouraged, choosing not to will have no consequences. The CSC will de-identify all the responses to this SIQ so that they cannot be used to identify you personally.

The equity SIQ has been authored by the CSC Committee Working for Inclusivity, Diversity, and Equity (WIDE) and approved by the CSC Board of Directors. If you are interested in connecting with CSC WIDE to be further included in the conversation, visit our website.

CSC does not sell or share its attendee list with third party organizations. If you receive unsolicited emails from firms offering such lists please disregard as a phishing attempt
