Three Canadian Society for Chemistry (CSC) Early Career Chemist Delegates, and CSC President, Jennifer Love, attended the second Commonwealth Chemistry Congress (CCC) in Trinidad & Tobago from May 23-25. Commonwealth Chemistry Congress 2023

The second Commonwealth Chemistry Congress (CCC) took place in Trinidad & Tobago from May 23-25. The event attracted more than 200 scientists and educators from over 30 countries across the Commonwealth to exchange knowledge, foster collaboration and address some of the most pressing challenges in the field of chemistry. 

It’s a wrap: Western Canadian Undergraduate Chemistry Conference (WCUCC 2023)

The Chemistry Students’ Association at the University of Alberta hosted the 35th Western Canadian Undergraduate Chemistry Conference (WCUCC 2023), in Edmonton, Alberta, from May 2-5, 2023. Historically, WCUCC has been a smaller-scale conference attended by 30 to 50 participants, but this year was different, with nearly 130 participants from more than 20 institutions across Western Canada. A total of 75 presenters gave 60 poster presentations and over 30 oral presentations.

India-Canada Joint Symposium at CHEMCON-2022 in Kanpur, India (December 27-30, 2022)

The Indian Chemical Engineering Congress (CHEMCON) is an annual flagship event of the Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IIChE), which is held in the month of December every year at different locations across India. An invitation from the IIChE was accepted by CSChE’s Board of Directors in early 2022. Ajay K. Dalai (University of Saskatchewan) and Anil K. Mehrotra (University of Calgary) were asked to organize and co-lead a CSChE delegation to an India-Canadian Joint Symposium at CHEMCON-2022.

Montréal to host 54th IUPAC General Assembly and 51st World Chemistry Congress in 2027

The International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) has chosen Montréal, Quebec to host the 54th IUPAC General Assembly and 51st World Chemistry Congress (WCC), collectively referred to as IUPAC 2027. Hosted at the Palais des congrès de Montréal, up to 3,500 delegates will be in attendance over July 16-23, 2027. The events will include the Canadian Society for Chemistry’s (CSC) 110th Canadian Chemistry Conference and Exhibition (CCCE).
