About BM
The Biological and Medicinal Chemistry Division (BM) of the Canadian Society for Chemistry comprises over 800 members interested in the interface between chemistry and biology or medicine. We organize the Biological and Medicinal (BM) scientific program of the annual conference of the CSC, sponsor research awards, and support scientific meetings. View the BM division’s charter.

Colette Macarios
Bio: Colette is a third-year PhD candidate in the Cui lab at the University of Toronto. Her research focuses on developing a chemical tool to visualize tRNAs in vivo. Outside of the lab, her hobbies include scrapbooking, training for triathlons, and singing in a band (C.O.S.Y.) with fellow graduate students.
Conall McCutcheon
Bio: Conall is a third-year PhD student in the Page Lab at the University of British Columbia. His research focuses on developing novel small-molecule kinase inhibitors to address chronic pain in osteoarthritis. Outside of the lab, he enjoys hiking, cooking, and playing volleyball.
Savreet Sangha
Bio: Savreet recently completed her BSc in Chemistry at York University, where she conducted her undergraduate thesis research under the supervision of Dr.Ryan Hili. She will be continuing in Dr. Hili’s lab as an MSc student, where her research focuses on investigating bispecific aptamer-based systems for targeted extracellular protein degradation, with potential therapeutic applications in cancer and immune-mediated diseases. Outside of the lab, she enjoys playing badminton, exploring new food spots, and spending time with friends.

The Biological and Medicinal Chemistry Lectureship Award (formerly the Teva Canada Limited Biological and Medicinal Chemistry (BMC) Lectureship Award) is presented to a scientist who has made a distinguished contribution to the field of biological or medicinal chemistry within the past five years of the initial nomination deadline date while working in Canada.
