In January 2022, the Canadian Society for Chemical Technology (CSCT) merged with the Canadian Society for Chemistry (CSC). The new TT division is a place for former CSCT members to maintain and grow the community of chemical technologists and technicians.
The 2022 winner of the Norman and Marion Bright Award is:
Robert Coy
DuPont
Robert Coy is a Sr. Technical Service Consultant with DuPont. He studied at St. Lawrence college in Kingston, Ontario.
Robert has 28 years of experience at DuPont, working on a multitude of programs and processes. Over his career he has contributed to the successful commercialization of new products into the wood polymer composites decking, building panels, protective film, breathable medical garment laminates, flexible packaging easy peel resealable lidding and many more. He is Six Sigma Black Belt trained and has actively led the technical and testing development of new material systems such as polymer metal hybrid components. This work has resulted in being a co-author on three published patent applications: WO2018208554A1 / WO2020076932A1 / WO20200081323A1.
In his current role, Robert is a Field Technical Consultant for engineering polymers, with responsibility for all of Canada. He works with major DuPont customers to identify and use the best engineering polymers and process conditions to produce products for high-volume parts, for automotive and industrial applications.
Robert has worked in a variety of functions in DuPont to make a real-world impact on products each of us uses daily.
