September 15th–19th marks National Postdoc Appreciation Week, a time to recognize the vital contributions postdocs make to Canadian research and innovation. Postdocs drive discoveries, mentor students, and bring bold ideas to life, yet too often their contributions go under-recognized at institutions, and their voices go unheard. We believe postdocs deserve acknowledgment, visibility, and a seat at the table in decision-making processes that directly influence their careers and the future of research.
That is why we are forming the Postdoc and Research Associate Member Resource Group (PARA MRG) within the CIC. This initiative will serve to recognize the contributions and amplify the voices of postdocs and research associates within the community of chemical sciences. Through the PARA MRG, members will have the opportunity to connect with peers, share resources, exchange experiences, and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of Canadian science.
Whether you are a current or former postdoc, research associate, staff scientist or simply a supporter of the postdoc community, we welcome you to be part of the PARA MRG. Together, we can build a stronger, more connected network that celebrates postdocs and research staff, recognizes their impact, and ensures their voices are heard.
