With less than two weeks to go, the Canadian Society for Chemical Engineering (CSChE) is excited to host the 69th Canadian Chemical Engineering Conference (CCEC) at the Halifax Convention Centre. Many of the delegates are undergraduate and graduate students from across Canada. We at the CSChE believe that students are the future and that we have a responsibility to support, guide, and raise up the next generation. The theme of CCEC 2019 is ‘Synergy and Innovation through Community Engagement’. We have strived to create a conference program that reflects our goal of fostering future chemical engineers.
There are a wide range of events planned for CCEC 2019, including competitions, workshops, and networking opportunities. Students will have many opportunities to showcase their hard work and talents in the Robert G. Auld and Reg Friesen Competitions, 3-Minute Pitch Competition, Poster Competition and the Hatch Plant Design Competition. The top contenders will be awarded recognition certificates and cash prizes. In addition, we understand that some students are entering their careers soon, whether that’s in the professional or academic field. The workshops that we have lined up for students at all stages include an Early Career Publishing Workshop and several career development workshops that are hosted by experts in their respective fields. Furthermore, there will be an abundance of networking opportunities through the Industry Tours, Graduate Studies Fair and by attending any of the main sessions during the conference.
We look forward to seeing all of you students in Halifax.
