Have you heard the news? CJCE’s publisher Wiley recently signed its first transformational agreement (TA) within Canada with Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN) Member Institutions for 2023/24, which includes 72 institutions across Canada.
This agreement means that article publication charges are covered for primary research and review articles, accepted on or after January 1, 2023, by corresponding authors affiliated with CRKN institutions.
For more information about this TA and how to benefit from it, read our CJCE Open Access Update CIC news story.
The February issue of CJCE contains lots of engaging content, including a short biography of the 2022 winner of The Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering Lectureship Award, Benoît H. Lessard from the University of Ottawa; new additions to the Systems and Control Division Special Series and the Experimental Methods Special Series; and a Special Issue Section Honouring Professor P. Raj Bishnoi.
In the preface to the special section, guest editors Peter Englezos and Anil K. Mehrotra note highlights from Prof. Bishnoi’s influential career from obtaining his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in chemical engineering from the University Department of Chemical Technology, University of Bombay (Mumbai, India), to establishing an “internationally acclaimed research program on the kinetics and thermodynamics of gas hydrates” where “Prof. Bishnoi and his co-workers developed novel experimental protocols for gas uptake and online hydrate particle size measurement to observe the kinetics of hydrate crystal formation and dissociation”. The preface also includes personal reflections from Prof. Man Mohan Sharma (Emeritus Professor of Eminence, Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai, MH, India) and Prof. E. Dendy Sloan (University Professor Emeritus, Center for Hydrate Research, Colorado School of Mines, Golden, CO, USA) on their interactions with Prof. Bishnoi over the years.
Be sure to access the 16 invited papers in this special section from Prof. Bishnoi’s former colleagues and students from across the world to learn about Prof. Bishnoi’s significant and continued influence on the chemical engineering community.
The February issue also features the second article in the Systems and Control Division Special Series— this month’s Editor’s Choice article: Bypass control of heat exchanger network under uncertainty by Chaitanya Manchikatla, Zukui Li, and Biao Huang.
And don’t miss the newest addition to the Experimental Methods Special Series: Experimental methods in chemical engineering: Computational fluid dynamics/finite volume method—CFD/FVM by Laurens Van Hoecke, Dieter Boeye, Arturo Gonzalez-Quiroga, Gregory S. Patience, and Patrice Perreault.
