Last June the Government of Canada launched a review of federal funding for fundamental science. The review is being led by an independent panel of research leaders and innovators chaired by David Naylor, former president of the University of Toronto.
The panel is seeking input from the Canadian research community through both formal and online consultations until Sept. 30. The Chemical Institute of Canada encourages all members to participate in the online consultation and in any consultations taking place in their region. This review will have a tangible impact on the tri-council agencies, the Canada Foundation for Innovation and other government-funded science research programs and institutes.
