The Canadian Society for Chemistry (CSC) is looking for a core leadership team to spearhead the potential organization of the upcoming CCCE/IUPAC conference in 2027.

As a consequence of converting the 2021 CCCE/IUPAC conference to an online event due to COVID, IUPAC has afforded the CSC with an opportunity to bid for an in-person conference to be held in Montréal in 2027. Due to the logistics required for the dual nature (CCCE/IUPAC) of the conference, the process would already start in the second half of 2021, with a leadership team in place. The initial team will consist of a) the Chair of the Organizing Committee, b) the Conference Chair, and c) the Technical Program Chair. The team will be supported by the staff of the CIC National Team in Ottawa.

The CSC is thus soliciting nominations from its membership for these three positions by Apr. 16, 2021. Self-nominations are also possible. Qualified candidates will have strong administrative leadership skills, as well as previous experience with conference organization.

The CSC is dedicated to diversity and inclusion, and seeks to represent all of the CSC membership. In the selection process, we will attempt to balance areas of chemical interest, geographic representation, and membership demographics, under-represented, and equity-seeking groups.

Submit a nomination to Rose Katagiri, Awards and Governance Associate by Apr. 16, 2021.
