Meet the Speaker
Stuart Schroeder
InnoTech Alberta
Dr. Stuart Schroeder received his PhD in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Alberta in 1996 with research in atomic emission spectrometry. Prior to joining InnoTech Alberta, Dr. Schroeder held an industrial position at Sherritt International where he initiated and maintained analytical methods supporting process control, process trouble-shooting, online analyzer programming, plant feeds analysis, product certification, and environmental monitoring. Since joining InnoTech Alberta in 2003, Dr. Schroeder has engaged in research relating to instrumentation development in the fields of environmental monitoring, pulp and paper, and oilsands industries. Emphasis has been placed on fabricating and inventing proof-of-concept instrumental prototypes that upset the status quo. Current research is focused on an instrumental technique referred to as the Solution Cathode Glow Discharge (SCGD) which is now poised to become an instrumental method for on-line elemental analysis.
