Spotlight Videos—an initiative of the CSC’s Working for Inclusion, Equity, and Diversity (WIDE) Committee—shines a light on chemists from diverse backgrounds and creates opportunities for increased representation of diverse researchers and scientists. Each month, CIC News highlights one researcher from the Spotlight Videos library.
Dr. Nausheen Sadiq is an Assistant Professor at Mount Royal University. Dr. Sadiq’s research focuses on toxic metals around us, including our foods and cosmetics.
In this WIDE Spotlight Video, Dr. Sadiq highlights their experience with adversity and how one can overcome it through perseverance and support from others. Dr. Sadiq highlights several supportive mentors who provided opportunities and guidance. As a mentor now, Dr. Sadiq builds communities and provides opportunities to students to empower them to become amazing scientists.
