Welcome Message from the Organizing Committee

On behalf of the organizing committee, it is our great pleasure to invite you to join us in Toronto May 24-28, 2026 for x2026, the concurrent conferences of the Canadian Society for Chemistry and the Canadian Society for Chemical Engineering. x2026 will bring all of Canada’s chemical professionals together under one roof for the first time in decades, in Toronto, on the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples.

As the fields of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering have evolved, more and more research is being done at the interface of the two disciplines, developing new chemistries to solve long-standing challenges. In this spirit, x2026 will be a place were discipline-specific topics are celebrated and advanced, building on the traditions that make CSC and CSChE so relevant, while also introducing new collaboration and networking opportunities to broaden research and professional horizons. Themed “Erasing Boundaries”, the concurrent conference model provides the unique opportunity to leverage the knowledge of both communities to address key global challenges. In the spirit of science, we are truly approaching x2026 as an experiment, bringing in new ingredients and mixing those ingredients in new ways to create an exciting and impactful product. We invite you to contribute to making this experiment a resounding success, and we look forward to welcoming you in Toronto!

CIC National Team

In the spirit of truth and reconciliation, respect and reciprocity, the CIC National Team acknowledges that our head office is located on the traditional, unceded Territory of the Anishinaabe Algonquin Nation. We acknowledge that our work spans the traditional lands of many First Peoples across what is known today as Canada. We are grateful and thankful to the Knowledge Keepers, Elders, and communities who have and continue to care for this land.
