Speaker: David Asekomhe
Bio: David Asekomhe describes himself as “an engineer, a safety enthusiast, an agent of change and a visible minority”. He is a safety executive with over 20 years of professional experience in the Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, Chemical and Energy industry. He holds a Bachelors degree and a Master’s degree in engineering from University of Manchester, England, UK
David started his career with ExxonMobil and then worked in various companies in the UK. In his last company in the UK, he was a senior engineering /project manager and a board member for Scott Bader LTD and Scott Bader Community Fund Trustee Limited. In his role, he was part of the group responsible for ensuring the interest of employees, surrounding community and the public.
He moved to Canada in 2013 and worked for a Process Safety Consulting company where he rose from the role of a senior process engineer to VP of consulting and solutions development in 9 years with the organization. He has functioned in almost every area of PSM, and still considers himself as a student of PSM. PSM for him is not just a job but a passion.
He also has experience of working in the Middle East for Qatar Biggest Petrochemical Company (QAPCO). There, he was able to contribute to the building of the PSM framework with other stakeholders.
David currently works for RskLess Inc. in Calgary as president /board member of the organisation. His goal is to make the world safer than yesterday and ensure safety is at the forefront of whatever industry we are engaged in.
