Abstract: Improving equity, diversity, and inclusion in chemistry is essential for moving our field forward.  In particular, evidence-based practices that remove barriers and support the success of all members of our communities are needed. In this interactive workshop based on findings from chemistry/science education research literature, graduate students and faculty will discuss ways to foster equitable and inclusive research and teaching spaces. Specifically, the workshop will aim to support participants in implementing practices that are both impactful and feasible within their local contexts.

Biography: Jacky M. Deng (he/him) is a PhD Candidate in Chemistry Education holding a Vanier Graduate Scholarship at the University of Ottawa.
