Description
In this seminar three amazing speakers, Dr. Tabitha Wood, Dr. Devin Latimer and Antoine Tente wa Tente will be discussing best practices for implementing Science community outreach. You will learn about the successful execution of community events like Science Rendezvous, the development and deployment of outreach events based around your passions and how to acquire funding for your outreach through programs like PromoScience.
Dr. Tabitha Wood has coordinated Science Rendezvous, an event that takes science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) research and innovation out of the lab and onto the street in true festive style for the public to discover and experience. Tabitha will share her viewpoint and recommendations for successful execution of a Science Rendezvous event.
Dr. Devin Latimer is coordinating “Energy and Climate Change Communications at Cultural Events”. During the seminar, Devin will discuss how he launched this community outreach initiative around his passion for climate change communication and share how you can do something similar yourself!
Finally, Antoine Tente wa Tente works as Program Officer for Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada, specifically for PromoScience, a program that provides financial support for outreach events. Antoine will speak to the PromoScience Program and how to apply for funding through this initiative.
