Bio: Daniel Vermeulen, a seasoned Senior Environmental Emergency Prevention Officer, is an integral part of the Environmental Emergency Division at Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC). Actively contributing to the CSA Process Safety Management Z767 Technical Committee, he plays a role in shaping the 2nd Edition of the standard. Daniel’s expertise lies in the realms of emergency prevention, preparedness, and the Environmental Emergency Regulations of 2019. With over a decade of hands-on experience in emergency management, he has focused on prevention, preparedness, and recovery strategies. Daniel is a proud alumnus of the University of Manitoba, holding a Bachelor of Environmental Science, and he further advanced his education with a Master of Science in Environment and Management from Royal Roads University.
