CANCELLED CCCE 2020
The Canadian Society for Chemistry’s (CSC) 103rd Canadian Chemistry Conference and Exhibition in Winnipeg (CCCE 2020), May 24-28, is cancelled.
After monitoring the outbreak of COVID-19 and considering our ethical obligation to public health and slowing the spread of this pandemic, the Canadian Society for Chemistry (CSC) has made the difficult decision to cancel the 103rd Canadian Chemistry Conference & Exhibition (CCCE 2020). This was based on the recommendations of Canadian and Manitoba public health guidelines and in collaboration with the CSC board and organizers of the conference: we know that this is the right decision to make.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the local organizing committee, the division chairs, the symposia organizers, and the National Office team for their hard work developing this year’s event. They have put their heart and soul into this, and we know it is a huge disappointment for them not to be able to see their wonderful program come to life.
Anyone who has already registered for CCCE 2020 will receive a full refund with no administrative fees. We will process these refunds automatically, so there is nothing you need to do at this time. Due to the high volume that we will be working through and the amount of time it takes to go through the electronic re-processing of credit card transactions, there will likely be some delay in receiving your refund. We are working diligently to make this happen as quickly as we can and are very grateful for your patience.
Exhibitor & Sponsorship Refunds
In the next few days, we will reach out directly to exhibitors and sponsors to help process your refunds and discuss the next steps. We are very grateful for your support.
Thank You for Your Understanding
We will do our best to respond to any concerns in a timely fashion. Please bear with us as the small team at the Chemical Institute of Canada National Office works together to resolve the situation. We were very much looking forward to bringing the Canadian chemistry community together at our annual event, but we know that our community is resilient and that our board has made the best decision possible in these very difficult circumstances. We hope to see you all in Montreal in 2021.
