Trivia - Test your CIC knowledge and Win Big

Do you feel that your knowledge of the Chemical Institute of Canada (CIC), the Canadian chemical sciences community, and its constituent societies unmatched? Here’s your chance to prove it! From Dec. 1, 2021, until Mar. 1, 2022, all active members of the CIC are invited to take part in our membership trivia gameEligible participants will have the opportunity to test their knowledge of the CIC while competing against their peers but also win a collection of prizes valued at over $2000 dollars 

How do I play?

1 – Follow or subscribe to our Twitter or CIC LinkedIn corporate account 

2Join the CIC or Renew your membership 

3 – Correctly answer two questions, one member question and one organizational question, on Twitter or LinkedIn by tagging your answers with the hashtag #WeAreTheCIC by the specified contest timelines.  

4 – All participants who submit two valid answers will be entered into a raffle.
Prize draws will take place on: Jan. 15, 2021, Feb.15, 2022, and Mar. 15, 2022.

Triva Game Rules & Regulations

Prize Distribution 

Members cannot win more than once, substitute the winning trivia game prizes for cash or any other alternative benefit or reward of their choosing. Following the winner’s announcement, the selected winner must reach out to the CIC National office to claim their prize by emailing with the subject line “Trivia Game Winner” within seven business days of the public announcement. Prizes will be emailed to the eligible selected winners by email only.  

Winner Selection

Winners are exclusively selected by the Chemical Institute of Canada National Office. All winners have seven business days to claim their prizes once they have been contacted by the CIC National Office. If the CIC National office does not receive a response from the selected winner within seven business days, the prize is automatically forfeited, and a new winner will be selected. Winners will be announced or published on the CIC’s Twitter, LinkedIn and organizational website pageAll participants who decide to enter the trivia game are providing consent for the CIC to publish their name along with the announcement. For all other inquiries regarding the CIC’s privacy policiesmembers are encouraged to consult the designated communications on this subjectTwo winners will be announced each month from December 2021 until February 2022. 

Eligibility Requirements

All trivia game participants must be active members of any one of the Chemical Institute of Canada’s three constituent societies, the Canadian Society for Chemical Technology (CSCT), Candian Society for Chemistry (CSC) and Canadian Society for Chemical Engineering (CSChE) to be eligible to win a prize. An active member is defined as someone who has a CIC membership expiring no later than Dec. 31, 2022
