The call for nominations for the 2017 Canadian Council of University Chemistry Chairs (CCUCC) Chemistry Doctoral Award deadline is Sept. 15. The award recognizes outstanding achievement and potential in research by a graduate student whose PhD thesis in chemistry was formally accepted by a Canadian university in the year preceding the nomination deadline. The 2017 Chemical Institute of Canada (CIC) Fellowship nominations must be submitted by Oct. 3. CIC Fellowships recognize the merits of members of the constituent societies of the CIC who have made outstanding contributions in the following areas: scientific, engineering and technical contributions; CIC, CSC, CSChE and CSCT activities; management of science, engineering or technology and teaching and mentoring and promotion of chemical public awareness.

The Canadian National Committee for IUPAC (CNCIUPAC) travel awards program assists young Canadian scientists and engineers who are within 10 years of having achieved their PhD and are currently working at a Canadian institute present a paper at a Canadian National Committee for the International Union of Pure & Applied Chemistry sponsored conference outside Canada.
