The Canadian Society for Chemistry (CSC) and the American Chemical Society (ACS) have signed a memorandum of understanding that promises to promote innovation and expedite knowledge transfer in the North American chemical industry sector. The agreement allows CSC and ACS members to register for conferences and short courses at member or preferred rates.

The Canadian Society for Chemistry (CSC) is presenting its third annual Professional Development Day June 13 at the 98th Canadian Chemistry Conference and Exhibition in Ottawa. Themed “Building Your Value for an Aspirational Career as a Chemist” the presentation will include workshops designed to enhance chemists’ technical and soft skills. SNC-Lavalin Plant Design Competition submissions are due May 15, 2015. The competition is a two-part process with three finalist teams showcasing their designs in oral presentations at the 65th Canadian Chemical Engineering Conference in Calgary, Oct. 4, 2015.

The Canadian Society for Chemical Engineering offers two CSChE Chemical Engineering Local Section Scholarships annually to undergrads in chemical engineering at a Canadian university. Submission deadline is April 30, 2015. Details at www.cheminst.ca/awards.
