The SNC-Lavalin Undergraduate Plant Design annual competition deadline is June 1. Presented by the Canadian Society for Chemical Engineering (CSChE), the annual event welcomes students enrolled in undergraduate chemical engineering programs at Canadian universities. The top team receives a cash award of $1,000 and each member receives a certificate as well as a one-year CSChE undergraduate membership. Second and third place teams receive certificates. See

The deadline for the Greek America Foundation’s Constantine and Patricia Mavroyannis Scholarship, which is being offered for the 2015-2016 academic year, is May 15. The $5,000 scholarship is for university graduate students of Greek heritage who are studying for a PhD in either theoretical physics or physical chemistry and enrolled in a science faculty in North America. The Chemical Institute of Canada is offering professional development courses from June 17-18 in Ottawa in Process Safety and Laboratory Safety. The process safety course presents technical and working concepts of process safety for engineering, safety and management professionals who work in process design or plant operations.
