The Ingenium Foundation is pleased to announce the winners of the 2018 STEAM Horizon Awards. The outstanding students received their awards at the Canada Science and Technology Museum on May 15, 2018.
The objective of the STEAM Horizon Awards is to promote the fields of science, technology, engineering, art and design, and mathematics (STEAM) to the next generation of scientists and engineers. The awards are given to individuals who clearly demonstrate inspiring achievement in these fields by applying their passion to have an impact on their community. Winners can approach their passion for technology and science from any angle, whether from an art and design perspective, research project, public outreach, or development of a new idea or product. Winners of the STEAM Horizon Awards have shown strong potential to become ambassadors for STEAM fields for younger generations.
The Ingenium Foundation is a national Foundation supporting the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum, the Canada Aviation and Space Museum, and the Canada Science and Technology Museum. The Foundation began its work in 2007 to share the human stories of Canadian innovation, and to inspire the next generation of great innovators. The Foundation achieves this by inspiring youth, sharing science and discoveries, encouraging innovation, protecting heritage, and sharing culture.
The STEM Award sponsors are: Canada Science and Technology Museums Corporation Foundation, Indspire and NSERC, alongside a collection of award sponsors.
