The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council is accelerating its processing of applications for support for research projects dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic. The agency is committing a total of $15 million to stimulate collaborations between academic researchers, the public and not-for-profit sectors, and industry to address pandemic-related research and technical challenges. Support for up to $50,000 for one-year projects is being made available immediately, and partners do not need to provide cash contributions to participate, although they must be engaged throughout the research process, from input in design to using the expertise and/or the research results.

Participants at last year’s Canadian Chemical Engineering Conference in Halifax had a chance to learn more about the NSERC’s newly created Alliance Grants program, which combined a number of previously existing research funding initiatives.
