The 102nd Canadian Chemistry Conference and Exhibition took place in Quebec City at the beginning of June. It was an opportunity for more than 2,500 CIC members to explore the many different aspects of the chemical sciences, from innovative laboratory technology to expanding their career options.

Among the major themes was that of EDI —equity, diversity, and inclusivity. A full day of sessions showcased the significant implications of these concepts and what they mean to anyone in the chemical sciences.

The Canadian Society for Chemistry (CSC) also elected its new Board of Directors at the Annual General Meeting in Quebec, which included a discussion of the organization’s commitment to strategic initiatives.

The conference was also highlighted by the CIC and CSC Presidents’ Awards Ceremony and Dinner reception, which provided an opportunity to recognize and honour talented individuals from across the country.
