A site visit team from the Canadian Society for Chemistry (CSC), including John McIntosh, FCIC, of the University of Windsor and Russell Boyd, FCIC, of Dalhousie University toured the chemistry department of Kuwait University last year to celebrate the 10th anniversary of accredited status from CSC for its programs as well as to renew that status.
During the visit, the team participated in a special ceremony to present the CSC Accreditation Certificates to graduates of the 2014/2015 academic year. Kuwait U considers the CSC accreditation to be very important, as indicated by the presence of the president and past-president of the institution as well as many senior administrators. External participants included a senior trade commissioner from the Canadian Embassy in Kuwait. The Canadian ambassador was unfortunately unable to attend. About 15 students received certificates.
