This year, Chemical Institute of Canada (CIC) Chair David Fung has made it his mission to visit as many of the local sections as possible during his term. To date, Fung has visited the Vancouver, Toronto, Ottawa, Manitoba, Hawkesbury and Hamilton CIC Local Sections as well as participating in special events. These included talks like “The Future of Asia’s Economy and its Implications for Canada,” informal CIC roundtable discussions with members and executives as well as such student competition events as Hamilton’s Annual Monsaroff Student Paper Night. Fung is encouraging CIC members to expand their networking activities with local chemical sciences industries and increase outreach with the public and media.
