Invited Lectures and Invited Communications at the WATOC Congress are delivered in six parallel sessions. To facilitate the movement of the audience between rooms, session chairs should adhere to the following instructions:
- Announce only the name of the next speaker. Do not read the title or the affiliation of the speaker. This information is typically on the first slide.
- Do not allow speakers to go beyond their allotted time.
- If a speaker does not allow time for discussion, thank the speaker and announce that it is necessary to move on to the next speaker.
- If a speaker is not present, do not move on to the next speaker. It is essential to maintain the schedule as announced in the program. Use the time to invite the audience to take part in a general discussion of the previous talks or on a topic selected by the session chair.
If the session chair fails to appear, the Organizing Committee requests that a member of the audience volunteers to act as the chair.
