Leaders Overcoming Great Inequalities in Chemistry
Leaders Overcoming Great Inequalities in Chemistry (LOGIC) is an annual retreat organized by the CWIC Network open to all trainees and professionals.
The LOGIC retreat was established in 2017. LOGIC’s goals are to provide an avenue for professional development and to create a supportive community in the chemical sciences. Usually occurring prior to the Canadian Chemistry Conference and Exhibition (CCCE), this is a great way to network with Canadians and international attendees.
LOGIC 2021 will be focused on the central theme, Be a Catalyst for Change – educating attendees and providing strategies to overcome individual barriers faced by minoritized groups. With seminars from leaders in chemistry and equity fields, workshops which provide training on self-empowerment and mental health, panel discussions with the local chemical community focused on alternative careers, we focus on positive and productive outcomes to inclusivity issues faced in the chemical sciences.
Additionally, there will be networking opportunities with attendees and presenters. If you are interested in presenting your efforts that contribute to the chemistry community outside of research, or a flash talk about your research, abstract submission is now open on our website!
