In order to ensure the health and safety of our delegates, speakers, exhibitors, staff, and community during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, IUPAC | CCCE 2021 will be a fully virtual event. Although August 2021 is still many months away, by making this decision now, we can ensure that the Canadian and international chemistry community will be able to safely participate and we can also plan the best possible virtual event.

While we share your disappointment in not being able to meet in-person, we hope you share our excitement about this opportunity to innovate an engaging virtual experience. Over the past months, the IUPAC | CCCE 2021 Organizing Committee has been working collaboratively with the Canadian Society for Chemistry, CNC-IUPAC, and the IUPAC Bureau to create an exciting virtual IUPAC | CCCE 2021 that will cater to the unique needs of our delegates around the globe. As chemical sciences professionals, we know conferences are a key venue for professional development, networking, and scientific advancement: we will work to ensure that these principles stand true for the virtual event as well.

As with every Canadian Chemistry Conference and Exhibition, the experience for attendees relies on the support of our community. Whether it is your first, or 40th time attending the Canadian Society for Chemistry’s annual conference, a virtual IUPAC | CCCE will be a new experience for all of us. While not a replacement for in-person events, this new endeavour will synthesize the best of our in-person events, with the convenience and accessibility of a virtual event. Beyond that, a virtual experience provides unique opportunities to engage a global audience, reach more young professionals, reduce our environmental impact, and stay safe.

As we finalize the details of this virtual event, we hope you are now able to submit your abstract to IUPAC | CCCE before the deadline of April 1, 2021, 11:59 PM ET. If you have any questions or concerns, reach out to us at CCCE@cheminst.ca.

Stay tuned for more exciting announcements….
