Welcome Message from the Organizing Committee

Ning YanOn behalf of the Organizing Committee, we warmly welcome you to join us at the 74th Canadian Society of Chemical Engineering Conference (CSChE 2024) in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. We are grateful to acknowledge that this conference will be held on the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples.

Building on the foundation of unit operations to the modern era of bioengineering, artificial intelligence, and green technologies, chemical engineers have consistently pushed boundaries by turning molecular concepts into scalable solutions. As our world is confronting global grand challenges, chemical engineering is vital for shaping our collective future. Our conference theme “Chemical Engineering: Addressing Grand Challenges” underscores the transformative potential of our discipline in taking a leading role to solve some of the most complex and perplexing issues facing humanity today. From combatting climate change, advancing renewable energy, ensuring water and food security, remediating environmental impacts, to pioneering breakthroughs in medicine and materials – chemical engineers hold the key to innovative solutions that are sustainable, equitable, and impactful.

CSChE 2024 will showcase groundbreaking research, foster international collaborations, and spark dialogues that will redefine our path forward. Join us in October 2024 to explore diverse facets of chemical engineering and envision a future where chemical engineering remains at the forefront of a positive global transformation.
