The CIC administers scholarships for high school students. Each CIC society administers student awards and competitions to recognize the outstanding contributions by students at all levels of Canadian universities and colleges.

Chemical Institute of Canada Student Scholarships

Lionel Chemistry Scholarship

Deadline: March 1 of every year

The Lionel Chemistry Scholarship has been established to assist high-achieving high school students who show an interest to study chemistry, biochemistry or chemical engineering at a postsecondary institution, but who would not be able to attend without significant financial assistance.  Selection is based on achievement in school, interest in chemical-related studies, and financial need. The scholarship is given towards up to 4 years tuition in the program.

CSC Faculty Advisor Award

Deadline: March 31 of every year

Presented to one faculty advisor from the CSC who has demonstrated exceptional performance working with students. This award is a Student Chapter-nominated award.

Deadline: Any time during the school year

Presented to the top students at each Canadian university entering their final year of chemistry, biochemistry or related programs.

Technologists & Technicians Division (TT) Silver Medal

In January 2022, the Canadian Society for Chemical Technology (CSCT) merged with the Canadian Society for Chemistry (CSC). The new TT division is a place for former CSCT members to maintain and grow the community of chemical technologists and technicians.

Presented to the top students at each Canadian college completing their final year of chemical technology or related programs.
