The Energy division of the Canadian Society for Chemical Engineering (CSChE) is a national network of volunteers with a particular interest in the field of energy. The purpose of the subject division is to bring together individuals with common areas of interest and expertise, in order to create networking opportunities and to encourage productive sharing of ideas.
Over the last number of years the Energy division has become dormant. To gauge interest in the division an anonymous survey was distributed to members who identified themselves as having interest in this division. A working group, led by CSCHE president Donna Jean Kilpatrick, has evaluated the results of the survey and determined that there is enough interest to attempt to re-establish the division . However, champions are needed to lead this division. The division will require executive representatives including a Chair, Vice Chair, a Secretary-Treasurer, and symposia organizers.
We are planning an open discussion meeting at the upcoming Canadian Chemical Engineering Conference in Edmonton, October 22-25, 2017. This discussion will strategize on the actions required to re-establish the Energy division, and seek to find candidates that are interested in leading it. Please join us on October 23, 2017 at 12:00pm in Salon 5 of the Shaw Conference Centre (9797 Jasper Ave, Edmonton, AB) for an open discussion about the future of the division.
If you are not planning to be in Edmonton but would like to learn more or volunteer to support the division please contact Chris Muldoon at firstname.lastname@example.org.
